Document Delivery

About Document Delivery

Bond University staff, postgraduate and undergraduate students can request delivery of items which are not held by Bond Library. The Document Delivery service attempts to locate and supply items from other libraries anywhere in the World or commercial document suppliers. Alumni and Bond University College short course students are not eligible to use this service.

Requests must be related to your teaching, research, study or employment at Bond.

Loan of items from other libraries such as:

  • books
  • DVDs
  • standards
  1. Log in to Library Search and search for the item to be sure it's not already held at the library.
  2. If the item does not appear in your results, select 'Expand results beyond Bond University Library' to include results that the library does not have.
  3. Find the item in the results and click the 'View it' tab.
  4. Select the 'Document delivery request' link and fill in additional information needed in the form and select the 'Request' button.
  5. Your request is now submitted. If you requested a physical item the library will contact you when the item is ready to collect or if you requested a digital item it will be sent to your Bond email once the request has been processed.

If you are unable to locate the item in Library Search using the 'Expand results beyond Bond University Library' feature, follow the steps below.

  1. Log in to Library Search and use the correct 'Citation Search' form to enter the details of the item you want to request:
    • Article form - use this form to request journal articles and newspaper articles
    • Book form - use this form to request books and chapters, and other materials such as DVDs
    • Journal form - don't use this form to request material through Document Delivery
  2. Once the form is filled in click 'Go'.
  3. Click the 'Get it' tab.
  4. Select the 'Document delivery request' link and fill in additional information needed in the form and select the 'Request' button.
  5. Your request is now submitted. If you requested a physical item the library will contact you when the item is ready to collect or if you requested a digital item it will be sent to your Bond email once the request has been processed.

If you have any problem with the method above, a manual request form is available and may be of assistance in the following instances:

  • Requesting a journal article that is embargoed (recent issues are not yet available via the Library's subscriptions)
  • Requesting an old journal article that has not yet been digitised by the publisher
  • Requesting non-standard formats for disability needs eg. print is required even though an electronic version is available online
