Accessing online resources

Current students and staff can access online resources through links in the Library’s website, Library Search and from within iLearn subject sites. They can be accessed on and off-campus. Access over the Wi-Fi network and from off campus may require authentication using your Bond network account details.

Borrowing resources

The length of the loan varies depending on membership type and the item type.

Standard loans more than 14 days overdue and high demand items more than 2 days overdue will be declared lost resulting in recovery costs and late fees being charged.

Textbooks and audiovisual materials recommended by lecturers for your subject that are in high demand are made available for 3 hour loans, or 7 day loans.

  • 3 hour reserve loans may be renewed once at the Library's discretion. They may not be renewed by phone. The loan may be extended overnight if borrowed within 3 hours of closing time.
  • 7 day loans may be renewed once if not requested by someone else.  Hold requests may be placed for 7 day loans.

Finding subject resources

Demerit points accrue for overdue loans. At 10 points your borrowing privileges will be suspended.

NB: Items on hold for other borrowers accrue 2 points per item. You will receive a recall notification to return the item if someone places a hold on one of your loaned items.

Examination results are withheld from students with overdue loans.

  • Reserve collection
  • 7 day loans
  • Requested items

Please note that late fees are not refundableRecovery costs are not refundable when the Library has ordered a replacement copy, or after the refund period has elapsed. Items returned to the library after the non-refundable Cost Recovery Fee has been charged will be retained for student collection for 6 months.

The Library does not charge daily accruing overdue fines.

Standard loans, 7 day loans and 3 day loans will be automatically renewed up to a certain number of days if they have no hold requests.

Before an item is due back, you can renew your loan via Library Search.
If the item is overdue, please contact the Library for renewing, either in person, or by phone 07 5595 1510.

If the item you need is currently on loan to someone else, you can place a hold on it via the Library Search. A notification will be sent to your Bond University email account when the item is ready for collection at the service desk in the Main or Law Library.

Items which are normally available for loans of 14 days or longer are loaned for 7 days when there is a waiting list to ensure equitable access.

Holds are used to monitor demand on individual titles. Extra copies may be purchased if demand is very high.

If an item you have on loan is requested by someone else it will be automatically recalled. You will be notified by email and required to return the item to the library by a specified date. Automatic renewals do not apply to requested items.

Please report lost or damaged items as soon as possible. Recovery cost charges will usually apply.
