COVID-19 (coronavirus): Latest advice for the Bond community.

Open Access in Bond’s research repository

October 23, 2020

Welcome again to Open Access Week at Bond University where today we are promoting Open Access research outputs in Pure Bond’s research repository.

The Bond University Research Portal showcases the scholarly publications of the University's researchers and currently holds more than 12,000 records comprising of many formats of research outputs including articles, conference papers, posters, books and book chapters along with PhD and Masters Theses and Datasets.

There are over 5,000 Open Access items in Pure  – that’s 41% of all Research Outputs produced by Bond researchers!

All open access works in Pure display the Open Access (open padlock) symbol and may be accompanied by a Creative Commons licence

Pure displays alternative metrics for open access works which can indicate the impact of the research in the wider community.  Open access works are often cited in social media and news channels and this is traced by PlumX and Altmetrics with interactive graphics displays.

Go to this record and click on the PlumX symbol to see download counts, citations and social media mentions. Pure also displays download counts for open access research outputs

Bond University advocates Open Access through the Open Access and Research Data Management and Sharing Policies and this is supported by implementing OA best practice and display features in Pure.

Further Open Access information is available in the Bond University Library Open Access and Scholarly Publishing Guide.
