Current students and staff can suggest books or DVDs you think should be available to borrow.
You can submit a purchase request for resources published in the last 12 months. Resources older than 12 months can be requested from other libraries via Library Search. Don’t worry if you use the wrong request option, Library staff will figure it out.
Please discuss significant or more complex purchase recommendations with your Faculty Librarian.
How do I submit a purchase request?
- Go to Citation Search in Library Search and click Sign-in in the top right corner.
- Select the Book option on the Citation Search form.
- Enter the details about the resource and click Submit.
- If the item is not already owned by the Library, click the link 'Ask the Library to purchase for the collection.'
- Check the details on the form is correct and click Next.
- You will be notified on the progress of your request via email. Alternatively, you can check the progress from My Library.
If you have any problem with the method above, a manual request form is available.
How long will it take?
You will receive an initial response to your purchase request within one business day. Resources may take from just a few days to some weeks to arrive depending on availability.
Resources for teaching
Any eligible items added to Resource Lists for teaching, that the Library does not already hold will be considered a purchase request. Just remember to click "Library Review". There is no need to submit a separate purchase request.
