New law library study spaces - levels 2 and 3

March 30, 2018

If you have not yet already done so, please come and visit our new John & Alison Kearney Law Library, and our updated and modernised spaces.

LEVEL 2: The recently refurbished law library has delivered significant improvements that enhance student experience.  The design maximises the use of natural light and features a tropical palm lined courtyard giving an indoor/outdoor feel. A range of study options has been incorporated into the architecturally designed space, including collaborative, independent and casual spaces, with an abundance of artwork to add to the ambience.

THE SPECS:  Within the silent study zone there are 42 desks, of which 28 have double power and USB outlets. The quiet study area provides seating for 44 people, of which 20 have PCs and the remaining 24 places have double power and USB outlets.  The active study zone contains seating for 38 people, of which 14 are situated at a large activity bench and the remaining 24 places have window seating to maximize the use of natural light and external views.  A consultation area with capacity for 10 people is available for Librarians to meet with students individually or in small groups.  The completely new student lounge provides seating for 92 arranged around tables, benches, and couches that provides a casual and relaxed study environment. The outstanding feature in this space is the glass walled John F Kearney Moot Court that looks out over the University quadrangle.

LEVEL 3:  Level 3 (including the two group study rooms) has now reopened!  We have listened to your requests.  Please venture upstairs to also to experience the new generous study space.
