The Libraries and the Multimedia Learning Centre are equipped with a large number of student-use computers, networked printers and copiers. Wi-Fi including Eduroam is available across campus.

Study rooms are equipped with large screens for collaborative work.

Using information technology in the Library

Computers

Computers are available in the Libraries and the Multimedia Learning Centre for student use. Computers are replaced on a regular schedule to ensure students have access to high-quality equipment. Study booths in the the Multimedia Learning Centre are equipped with computers connected to LCD screens for groups to collaborate on work. Study rooms are equipped with either computers, LCD screens or projectors with laptop connections.

Software on University computers

Students can bring their own laptops, tablets and smartphones, or use the computers (PC and Mac) to connect to the Internet and online Library resources and services. 

Power outlets are located in tabletops or study carrels for charging devices. If you forget your cable, you can choose to use a chargebar at these locations:

  • Main Library – Level 2
  • Multimedia Learning Centre

Do not leave your devices unattended.

Networked printing and photocopying facilities are available in selected locations across the campus. In the Libraries and Multimedia Learning Centre students can use:

  • Black & White and Colour Printers/Copiers (A3 and A4)
  • Scanning to email
  • Duplex printers (double-sided printing is the default)

The Print Shop is located in the Main Library for specialist printing requirements.

Equipment for loan

The following equipment is available for loan to students and staff:

  • Presentation clickers
  • High speed HDMI cable
  • USB3.0 to HDMI converter
  • USB-C to HDMI adaptor
  • Samsung HDMI adaptor
  • Mini display port to HDMI
