Resources & facilities

The Main Library is the location for all Library, IT and audiovisual help. At the Library Service Desk staff can help you find and borrow books, right through to accessing the latest research findings in electronic resources. Or if you need to resolve wireless or IT account problems the Computing Support Desk will assist.

The Main Library houses the physical collection of books, audiovisual resources and print journals in all disciplines except law. The cinema collection of films and TV series on DVD and the Reserve Collection are located on level 2, the remainder of the collections are located on levels 3 and 4, and can be searched through Library Search.

How to subscribe to RSS feeds:
  1. Right-click the link and select copy

If there is a book in the RSS feed that you are interested in and it's not available on the shelf you can log into your Library account and place a hold on it.

The Main Library offers casual seating in various configurations for social learning, and over four hundred individual study stations with either desktop computers or laptop facilities. Silent study spaces are available on levels 3 and 4. Eight group study rooms can be booked by students and are equipped with either PCs or large screens for connection to laptops.

The Papyrus café offers coffee, tea, cold drinks, light meals and snacks in a relaxed atmosphere with casual seating and a laptop bar. The Papyrus Café is open 7 days a week. Phone 5595 3565 for café enquiries.

Consultations

Librarians are available for consultation at the Library Service Desk or make an appointment with a Faculty Librarian, for one-on-one help with literature searching, choosing relevant sources, setting up alerts to keep current, reference management – EndNote & RefWorks and citing with APA, Chicago, Vancouver or Harvard styles.
